Surety Claims Handling Services
Once we become aware of a claim, we act as the liaison between you as our client, the surety, and the party filing the claim. The depth of our role varies by each claim and the customer’s desire for our involvement. On the extreme end, we have helped negotiate “take over contract” language or have helped write the first draft of a “settlement agreement” with our customers to submit to their attorney. On the other end of the spectrum, we simply act as a gateway between the parties for an exchange of information. We keep our customers informed by copying them (usually via e-mail) as to the status of any claim. This is often a group e-mail to both the surety liaison and their attorney to ensure that all parties remain up-to-date regarding the claim and any current developments.
