McGriff announced today that it has named Arkansas Area Executive Will Thames to lead its Charlotte, N.C. area operations. The Truist-owned insurance subsidiary has identified Charlotte as an emerging flagship insurance operation. As area managing executive of Charlotte, Thames has been tasked with developing McGriff’s presence in the rapidly growing metro area.
“Charlotte is a critical market for McGriff, Truist Insurance Holdings, and Truist as a whole, and Will is the right person to lead this effort,” said Wes Dasher, president of McGriff’s Mid-Atlantic Region. “He has done an outstanding job in bringing in new talent, developing existing talent, and leading the state of Arkansas, which is the top area in our Mid-Atlantic Region for new business growth. We are fully confident in his ability to lead and grow our operations in Charlotte, a very important market for us.”
Thames assumes his new role in Charlotte effective Sept. 1.
