LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – McGriff announced today that it has promoted Arkansas Sales Leader Taylor Mitcham to area managing executive for the state. Mitcham succeeds Will Thames who was appointed to lead the firm’s Charlotte, N.C. operations earlier this year.
Mitcham joined McGriff in 2004 as a commercial property and casualty producer before leaving in 2013 to join the transportation team for another large national insurance broker. He returned to McGriff in 2020.
Since returning to McGriff, Mitcham is a two-time winner of the firm’s top sales award and will continue in a sales role along with his new management responsibilities.
“Taylor has demonstrated outstanding leadership acumen in his current role and I'm confident he will bring those same qualities to his new role as area managing executive for Arkansas,” said Patrick Dessauer, president of McGriff’s Southwest Region. “Arkansas continues to be a leading source of new business for McGriff and I have no doubt that momentum will continue under Taylor’s leadership.”
An Arkansas native, Mitcham earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and insurance from the University of Arkansas. He also holds the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations. He can be reached at 501-661-4975 or taylor.mitcham@mcgriff.com.
